Porridge is the fastest growing breakfast cereal in the UK, and Hamlyns of Scotland is the fastest growing brand north of the border.
I have been working with Hamlyns of Scotland for twelve years, developing trade and consumer PR campaigns, consumer promotions, consumer press advertising, and other brand building activities. I have organised promotions with major retailers, set up a wide variety of competitions, managed stands at a variety of trade and consumer shows including the BBC Good Food Show and Royal Highland Show, provided media relations, sponsorship management, web site development, recipe leaflets, advertising and packaging re-design.
For three years, we worked closely with Scottish chef, Nick Nairn, on a consumer campaign with on-pack competitions, press competitions, and recipe leaflets culminating in a series of corporate days at Nick Nairn’s Cook School. We recently launched a second series of recipe leaflets with the Cook School.
In 2009, I developed a promotion with Curves ladies health clubs across Scotland, and in 2010 and 2011, ran promotions in all Scottish Slimmers clubs in Scotland, bringing the Hamlyns brand to tens of thousands of key target consumers. In 2011 we also developed sample bags which have been provided to participants in major amateur sporting and fundraising events throughout Scotland.
Autumn 2011 saw the launch of the new Hamlyns website www.hamlynsoats.co.uk. I managed the tender process for the website, wrote the copy, sourced the photography and worked closely with the designer.
New activities this winter include a new on-pack promotion with VisitScotland to win a short break activity holiday in Scotland, and sponsorship of Scottish Slimmers’ Lifetime Membership pack for members who reach their target weight.
